Welcome to our new school year at Stone Bridge!
I am privileged to be joining this vibrant community as the new SBS administrator, and have already been enjoying several weeks in the office with my wonderful office team, and this past week getting to know the amazing faculty who work their magic every day with the students. Now, with our first day of school right around the corner, I look forward with anticipation to having my heart filled with the mystery of these delightful beings who are at the heart of all our work: the children!
I am also very excited about meeting each of you. Please stop by the office and introduce yourselves, or catch me walking (or running!) across campus. It may take me a while to learn everyone's name, but I am not shy about asking if I forget.
Stone Bridge School is ten years young, and we begin our second decade in good health. We are fortunate to be part of a growing movement of public schools offering to our families and students a developmentally appropriate and integrated K-8 curriculum inspired by Waldorf education. Our students - your children - receive a rigorous academic and artistic experience within the meaningful context of a rich cultural life. We are graced with a committed and caring group of talented teachers and support staff, and an active and dynamic parent body. We enjoy daily the beauty of our lovely campus, with good neighbors in our friends at Salvador Elementary. While the current economic crisis has also impacted our operations, we are on firm financial footing and as a result can continue to offer so much of what is essential to our unique learning community.
Many challenges and incredible opportunities await our daring spirits! These are awesome times in which to be compassionate players striving to make a difference, and I am grateful to be working with you to create the best "village" in the world for our children and ourselves.
Sincerely,
Darryl Centers (aka "Mr. C.")
